Renée Shaw Hughner is an associate professor in the Morrison School of Agribusiness. Broadly, her research lies in the areas of food marketing as it relates to consumer behavior, health, nutrition, and education. Her research has focused on understanding the role of labels in consumer decision making. Current projects also include the examination of food systems in alleviating food insecurity. Dr. Hughner currently serves as Vice Chairwoman on the Board of the Arizona Food & Drug Industry Education Foundation and is former Chairwoman of the National Grocers Association Food Industry University Coalition. She is a recipient of the Huizingh Outstanding Undergraduate Service to Students award, and teaches courses in Agribusiness Marketing, Strategy, and Food Retailing. She has published research in Food Policy, Agribusiness, the Journal of Consumer Behaviour, and the Journal of Business Research. She currently serves on the editorial review boards for the Journal of Macromarketing and the Journal of International Food & Agribusiness Marketing.
