Camila's interests begin with neglected tropical diseases, with a current focus on dengue, and encompass the human relationship that is associated the community interactions, how cultural mores and perceptions can shape adherence to interventions, and the role racial disparities play. Her current work focuses community perceptions and adherence to dengue interventions in Saint Lucia.
She aims to eventually merge her infectious disease and education background to work with marginalized communities, while still mentoring and teaching future global health students. Her goal is to evaluate interventions programs and ensure they are culturally tailored, supported by the community receiving the intervention, and that communities are involved with the interventions throughout the process.
