On the theory front, we develop, and use the tools of Bayesian inference, ML/AI, Statistical Physics, and Stochastic Processes, broadly defined, to understand living systems from single molecules to whole cells. A special emphasis is placed on interpreting dynamical events resolved down to the single molecule level from spectroscopic and imaging data. On the experimental side, we investigate the role of hydrodynamics on bacterial interactions as well as bacterial predation.
