Hero's research and teaching focus on American democracy and politics, especially through the analytical lenses of Latino Politics, Racial/Ethnic Politics, State and Urban Politics.

Colbern's areas of expertise is in American politics, race, immigration, social movements, policy, federalism and citizenship.

Prof. Strickland's areas of research include interest groups, legislatures and subnational politics in the United States.

Pérez's research examines religion, political theory, and American national security.

Anastasia is a third year PhD student. She serves the department as the Experimental Lab Coordinator. Her research interests include: women in politics, state politics, political behavior, and political methodology.
