Kiaei is the director of the Connection One Center (NSF I/UCRC Center) and Motorola Chair in Analog and RF Integrated Circuits.

With Master's degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering, worked in Semiconductor Circuit Design for many years before a late career switch to Astrophysics.

Sanchez Esqueda's research focus is the development of electronic technologies through the exploration of novel nanoscale materials and device functionalities for computing, memory and sensing applications.
