Lily Villa (Pierce) is a PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology at the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Arizona State University West Campus' New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology at Arizona State University.
Dr. Villa specializes in applied anthropology for community-led research and social change. Villa's dissertation research explores intergenerativity for community development in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), which is a medieval re-enactment and educational organization that exists throughout the world. Her dissertation research catalyzed a new Guild in the SCA focused on the needs of youth and families in the organization. Villa has over 8 years of intergenerative community organizing for social movements and nonprofit leadership and development. She is a grant writer and additionally one of the founders of the Sonoran Desert Cultural Preservation Society.
Villa works as a Faculty Associate at ASU West and an Adjunct Faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Her classes are introductory anthropology classes, theory classes, sustainability, magic, witchcraft and healing, and the anthropology of death and dying.
