Jeff LePine is a professor and PetSmart Chair in Leadership with W. P. Carey School of Business. He joined ASU in 2011, coming from Warrington College of Business, University of Florida. In addition to numerous best paper awards and scholarly achievement awards from the Academy of Management and the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, he was recognized in 2025 with the W.P. Carey School of Business Dean's Distinguished Career Research Award, and in 2015 as an Outstanding Doctoral Professor in the W. P. Carey School of Business.
Professor LePine's research, which has been funded by NIH, NASA, Army Research Institute, and Office of Naval Research, focuses on how leaders and organizations can foster the functioning and effectiveness of individuals and teams, especially in the context of challenging events and circumstances. His research focuses more specifically on four broad areas of organizational behavior: (1) The functioning and effectiveness of teams, (2) performance behaviors involving teamwork, citizenship, voice, and adaptability, (3) the role of leadership on individual and team effectiveness, and (4) the influence of engagement and stress on employee effectiveness and well-being.
Professor LePine is a fellow of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Prior to beginning his academic career, he was an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He earned his PhD in organizational behavior from Michigan State University.
