Ajay Day-Coleman works as adjunct faculty with the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, Writer's Studio. She resides in Tucson, AZ where she works on strategy and compliance initiatives for a major defense contractor in a Sr. Technical Support Engineer role.
Day-Coleman completed her master’s degree in technical communication from Arizona State University with minor study work in instructional design. While studying at Arizona State University, she was a writing mentor for the Writer’s Studio.
Day-Coleman has been a course facilitator for the Lean Green Belt course for the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, Global Outreach and Extended Education from 2012 to 2016. During this time, she received certification from American Society of Quality (ASQ) as an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence after she had pursued her Six Sigma Green Belt at Arizona State University. She has served as Website chair for the ASQ Lean Enterprise Division, presented a “Lean Thinking” workshop at the ASQ World Conference on Quality in Milwaukee, WI in 2016. She's been involved in understanding the impact of writing mentors embedded into writing program's and presented on an ASU panel at the National Conference of Peer Tutoring in Writing in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015 on the “Nirvana of the Writing Fellow.”
