Diane Gruber earned her doctorate in American Studies from Purdue University with an emphasis on the history of American popular culture, marketing and advertising. Her current research employs hermeneutical approaches to cinema, art, and aesthetics.
She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in film, media, consumerism, argumentation, rhetorical theory, social movements, qualitative research methods and professional speaking and writing.
Gruber served as the director of ASU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and its related lifelong learning Valley-wide programs from 2006-2009.
