Dr. Amanda Boutot is Clinical Professor, Division of Advancing Education Policy, Practice, and Leadership with the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D), Dr. Boutot has been actively engaged in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education across a variety of settings for more than 30 years. As a former special education teacher, Dr. Boutot collaborates with public schools on issues related to severe challenging behavior, classroom positive behavior interventions and supports, and programming for students with autism and other developmental disabilities. She has worked with individuals ages 4 months through adult and has provided training and supervision, face to face and online, for a wide range of participants. Dr. Boutot has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in special education and ABA for more than 25 years, specializing in the application of ABA to real world settings. She has consulted for schools and clinics across the US, specializing in severe challenging behavior, organizational behavior management, and serving as an expert witness in due process cases in schools. Dr. Boutot’s research centers on the use of ABA with infants and toddlers with Down syndrome and play-based ABA for young children with autism. Her interests include particular focus on increasing access to ABA based services throughout the world. Dr. Boutot also has earned specializations in organizational behavior management (OBM) and applied animal behavior. She has recently earned a certificate in OBM and is completing a second masters in organizational leadership. She regularly volunteers her time on the canine behavior team for a no-kill animal shelter as well as the behavioral observations team at the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation (Phoenix Zoo).

- Play Boot Camp - Women in Philanthropy funded collaboration with faculty from Speech and Communication Disorders and Psychology. Evaluating the efficacy of telehealth delivered parent training on play, cognitive, motor, and language development for infants with Down syndrome.
- Use of Bug-In-Ear Technology to Deliver Functional Analysis Coaching to Registered Behavior Technicians in a Play-Based Setting - Partnership with Axis for Autism, Gilbert.
