Jeffrey A. Macias is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Supply Chain Management at Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, ASU He is concurrently a PhD candidate (ABD) at Claremont Graduate University's Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, with an expected completion date of 2026. He was named a Peter F. Jeffrey's research focuses on consumer behavior in supply chain management, with particular emphasis on sustainable purchasing behaviors and pro-social consumer decision-making in B2C supply chains. His work explores how consumer demand drives sustainability practices—including ESG adoption—across supply networks, as well as phenomena such as "customer revenge" when consumers discover unethical supply chain practices. His broader research interests include AI in supply chain management, AI-human collaboration in procurement, public and non-profit procurement, and digital twins. asu
Prior to academia, Jeffrey built a 20-year career in industry, including 18 years at Intel Corporation (2001–2019) and roles at Honeywell Aerospace (1999–2001). He has also served as an SCM consultant for the City of Phoenix and has been involved with Make-A-Wish® Arizona. He holds an ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) credential and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Jeffrey earned his BS in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University Summa Cum Laude, 1999, and his MBA from Washington State University's Carson College of Business, where he was recognized as the Val Miskin Distinguished MBA Scholar (2013). At ASU, he teaches a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses—including Global Supply Operations, Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Strategy, Research and Negotiation, and a special topics course in Public and Non-Profit Procurement— and was a nominee for the John H. Teets Outstanding Teaching Award (2022–23). He serves as Faculty Advisor for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) at ASU, sits on the Washington State University MBA Board of Advisors (Emeritus), and helped establish the first MS AI in Business Leadership Board at W. P. Carey.
