Stuart Rhoden is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the University College at Arizona State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Urban Education from Temple University and his teaching credential in secondary education from UCLA. He is originally from Chicago, IL where he graduated and taught at University of Chicago Laboratory School for four years. In addition, he was a Small School Coordinator and AP History teacher for four years at a public high school in South Central Los Angeles.

Prior to teaching, Dr. Rhoden worked in Public Policy, Public Relations and Education. His research interests are interdisciplinary, focusing on academic success, sociology of education, policy/reform, the bridge between secondary and post-secondary education, students of color, and culture and diversity issues. In addition, Dr. Rhoden is working on his second book that focuses on post-traumatic growth, growth mindset and academic achievement.
