As a university educator, I have a heartfelt desire to teach students about their abilities in making a healthier society. I aspire to teach using sound educational theories, developing accessible content, and designing courses that strengthen the cognitive and affective domains. I am committed to the pledge of diversity, which, to me, means education for all. I am uplifted by the accountability and vitality that students bring to my classes. I aspire to be a memorable teacher for students by imparting wisdom and expressing my enthusiasm for education, health, and science.
I have spent my entire life in the desert southwest states, and I am proud to call Phoenix my home for nearly ten years. I was a first-generation college student. I worked hard in my studies and developed an interest in education and my disposition for teaching. I am intrigued by public health, science and technology, and health education across the lifespan. In my role at ASU, I have found the perfect blend of teaching, service, and leadership. I thoroughly enjoy what I do because I work with remarkable students and colleagues.
