Mariana Ruiz-González was born in Mexico City in 1983. She was raised in Extremadura, Spain until she was nine years old, afterwards she returned to her country.
She is a Ph.D. student in Spanish, Latin American Literature, and a Digital Humanities and Critical Theory Certificates. She graduated from her bachelor's degree in Communications 2001-2005 in La Salle University, campus Cuernavaca, Morelos and with another bachelor degree in Iberoamerican Literature (2010-2014) in El Claustro de Sor Juana University in Mexico City. She also studied creative writing courses in Creative Essay with Valeria Liuselli (2012), and autobiography with Rossa Nissan (2010), and Poetry and Narrative with Javier Sicilia (2005).
