Bio
Kristen Young serves as the Assistant Director of Leadership and Professional Development in Facilities Development and Management. She manages the leadership development programs and training for FDM. She also provides other professional development opportunities for FDM employees.
Before coming to the Office of Human Resources at ASU in 2016, she spent over 20 years in higher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and at the College of Southern Nevada. Prior to that, she lived in South Korea teaching English as a Second Language at a private university. Kristen’s background spans a breadth of areas within a college/university setting including student advising, social and cultural programming, tutoring, training and development, admissions, student affairs, leadership, and classroom instruction. Throughout all of her professional experiences, Kristen’s passion has been to mentor others as they developed their interpersonal, supervisory and cross-cultural communication skills so that they could become a source of positive change for the university and community. She is certified in D.I.S.C. assessment, Human Capital Strategy, InsideOut Coaching, Consultation, Change Management, SPARK facilitation, Dare to Lead and Emotional Intelligence EQ-i 2.0.
