Karen Sung is the Chief Strategy Officer at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She advises and assists the dean in advancing strategic priorities, initiatives, and diverse stakeholder engagement, including the comprehensive and customized engagement strategy around the law school’s mission and core values with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents.
Sung was previously the executive director of marketing and communications for the law school, working with senior leadership and other members across the organization to develop, coordinate, and implement strategic marketing and communications initiatives that support the college’s ambitious goals – including recruitment and brand reputation.
Before joining ASU, Sung counseled Fortune 500 clients, including Microsoft and Toyota, healthcare organizations such as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and higher education organizations such as Northeastern University, in strategic communications and media relations.
Sung started her career in broadcast journalism and continues to utilize the skills acquired from her journalism background (being inquisitive, storytelling, clear communications) in everything she does and believes a good narrative is key to any initiative or goal.
