Baylee Edwards is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Biology and Society program at Arizona State University, and she works in the Brownell Biology Education Research lab within the School of Life Sciences. Her research explores the ways in which students and instructors perceive the relationship between religion and science and the impact that those perceptions have on students’ experiences in biology courses. She has been a teaching assistant for BIO 312: Bioethics and is currently an instructor for the Embryo Project writing seminar. Additionally, she has worked as an introductory biology curriculum developer since March 2020, where she has helped develop innovative online biology curriculum, train BIO 181 TAs, and progress the initiatives of ASU's Dreamscape Learn. In her future endeavors, she hopes to continue working alongside instructors, education researchers, and curriculum developers to create more inclusive college biology courses that prioritize and support students’ learning.
