Long Bio
Lukas Wenrick serves as the Senior Director of Learning Innovations within the Learning Enterprise at Arizona State University, where he leads a team that designs, pilots, and scales innovative learning models across disciplines. His team advances discovery-stage initiatives that extend ASU’s mission of universal learning, incubating new educational pathways, technologies, and experiences that reach learners of all backgrounds.
Lukas champions the belief that access and excellence can, and must, coexist within higher education. He works to expand educational opportunity and deliver high-quality academic programs to as many learners as possible. His leadership supported ASU’s largest philanthropic learning initiative to date (the creation of the Rob Walton School of Conservation Futures), and has guided numerous efforts that span the breadth of higher education innovation. He has overseen the launch of the Conservation Futures Academy, institutionalized and scaled the Earned Admission and Universal Learner Courses (ULC) models, and advanced new frameworks for workforce learning, health literacy, and college-in-prison education.
Since joining ASU, Lukas has served in multiple roles within the Learning Enterprise and the Office of the President, including Director of Universal Learner Courses, Assistant Director of the Learning Enterprise, and Program Manager within the Office of Applied Innovation. Across these positions, he has built scalable systems, managed cross-functional teams, and delivered measurable learner success at institutional and global levels.
Lukas is pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation at ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. He holds a Master’s in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Bachelor’s in Social Science Education from Wright State University, and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Analytics in Higher Education from ASU. His experiences across public, private, and service-oriented institutions shape his belief in higher education as a driver of equity and transformation.
