Dr. Charlotte Newman completed her course work for the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership.
Dissertation Title: FACTORS AFFECTING KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER WITHIN AN ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION
Dr. Newman holds a dual concentration Master’s degree in Human Resource Development and Management. She earned a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology (ASU alumni) and completed 18 hours of Graduate Psychology courses. Her undergraduate degree is in Family and Consumer Studies (emphasis Family Life/ Child Development). She has achieved SHRM-CP and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certifications.
Dr. Newman serves as an adjunct Faculty Associate at the university level with numerous course approvals in Human Resources, Leadership, Business, Management, and General Education. She has taught university-level courses for 20-plus years. As a certified Advanced Facilitator at one university, she received the Distinguished Teaching Award in 2010. She also was recognized as part of the Phoenix500 (top faculty) for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years. She was selected as Lead Faculty for the entry-point courses. She has facilitated online Student Workshops as well as Faculty Certification and Development Workshops. She also has experience as a Business Program Director and acted as the Director of Workshops & Training for the Scholarship Executive Board (SEB) which focused on educating and facilitating faculty scholarship poster sessions at a local university. Currently, she is the College of General Studies Lead Faculty Area Chair at that university. In this role, she mentors new and experienced faculty. She is considered a Subject Matter Expert in Human Resources (HR) and has developed and revised undergraduate and graduate HR courses. She is also a Subject Matter Expert for the Small Business and Entrepreneurship program at a local community college and was recently recognized as an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty member for 2020-2021.
Additionally, Dr. Newman is a partner in a Mechanical Design Engineering Consulting company in the local Phoenix area. As entrepreneurs, Dr. Newman and her partner created this company 24 years ago whereby they learned how to create and sustain a small business.
Dr. Newman is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management – Greater Phoenix. She previously served as the Membership Experience Committee Chair. She has volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank and Packages from Home, for local running/ tri events, and is currently a volunteer scholarship reviewer for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Rio Salado College.
