Jon McQueen is an Instructor at Arizona State University’s School of Social and Family Dynamics, where he teaches and researches the intersections of social institutions, deviance, masculinity, and the Troubled Teen Industry. Prior to his academic career, Jon served as Director of Research and Business Development at a leading market research firm in Phoenix, where he led qualitative and quantitative projects for political, nonprofit, and corporate clients. His success in that role was grounded in his sociological training and sharp insight into group dynamics, cultural values, and institutional behavior. Today, Jon brings that same analytical rigor and real-world experience to the classroom, where he is known for his engaging teaching style and ability to make complex theory meaningful to large, diverse student populations. Whether exploring power structures in congregate care systems or guiding students through the sociological imagination, Jon’s work consistently blends research excellence with a deep commitment to transformative education.
