Dr. Kristin Elwood has a PhD in Learning, Literacies, and Technologies. She specializes in educational technology, instructional design, and learning design with an emphasis in online language learning. Currently, she is the Director of Digital Initiatives and Instructional Design for the School of International Letters and Cultures (SILC) at ASU. In this position she provides support for faculty and instructors in the development of online second language acquisition courses, cultural content courses, and professional development opportunities. She also collaborates with various units to research and implement digital solutions for online learning.
Dr. Elwood is currently most interested in the intersection of technology and language learning. She researches the pedagogical applications of technology to facilitate effective second language acquisition, as well as methods and strategies for fostering authentic experiences for online language learners.
