Long Bio
DeAndré Augustus, J.D.; LL.M is a Presidential Graduate Scholar here at Arizona State University. His research areas include legal theories and consciousness, and critical race studies. His Ph.d focus is centered around how the United State’s Supreme Court has helped formulate the current relationship between policing and the Black Community.
Prior to his time at Arizona State University, he worked in Louisiana local law enforcement for six years, specializing in narcotics investigations. His earlier education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Prairie View A&M University, a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University Miami, and an LL.M from the University of Nebraska. His most recent publication is entitled ”How the Race of a Neighborhood Criminalizes the Citizens Living within: A Focus on the Supreme Court and the" High Crime Neighborhood."
