DeAndré Augustus, J.D.; LL.M is a Presidential Graduate Scholar here at Arizona State University. His primary research area is Race and Law. His Ph.d dissertation examines modern failures of the rights imbedded within U.S. Constitution's 2nd Amendment in preventing innocent Black Death from state sanctioned law enforcement killings.
Prior to his time at Arizona State University, he worked in Louisiana local law enforcement for six years, specializing in narcotics investigations. His earlier education includes a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Prairie View A&M University, a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University Miami, and an LL.M from the University of Nebraska in Space, Cyber and Telecommunications Law. His most recent article publication How the Race of a Neighborhood Criminalizes the Citizens Living within: A Focus on the Supreme Court and the "High Crime Neighborhood," and looks into the root causes of over policing Black Neighborhoods.
