De Marneffe received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University and joined the faculty of ASU in 1989. His most recent book is "The Myth of Classical Liberalism."

McGregor researches civic virtue, leading a funded project on its development in higher education. She also works with ACLS on principles guiding research, including a project on the ethical use of AI and LLMs.
