Laura Polk is the Executive Director of Digital Initiatives & Learner Experience for the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University (ASU), where she leads the new Platform Enterprise for global innovation. She developed and launched the 100 Million Learners Initiative, which supports global learners at scale and removes barriers to access.
Professor Polk also teaches Organizational Leadership, Organizational Diversity, and Managing People at ASU. She is part of the Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership, a program of ASU and Georgetown University.
She has several years of leadership experience and specializes in digital innovation, AI, organizational leadership, succession planning, personnel management, manufacturing, and aerospace and defense. For her dissertation research, she oversaw the engineering and building of metal parts at a manufacturing plant, including components now aboard NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover, defense weapon mechanisms for the U.S. government, and medical equipment.
Professor Polk holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School at ASU.
