Long Bio
Pamela Hodges Kulinna is a professor in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. She joined ASU in 2003, coming from Wayne State University where she worked for six years.
Professor Kulinna's research focuses on changing the culture of schools to healthy and active. She studies teaching, teacher education, and curriculum as they relate to student learning outcomes. She has shared her research in more than 145 refereed professional presentations to international and national audiences, published more than 100 refereed research articles, 13 articles in refereed professional journals and several book chapters. She has been the PI on 20 research projects.
Professor Kulinna has served as the co-editor of the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education and reviews for several other physical education, education and kinesiology focused journals. She is currently involved in HealthWorks: Fitness for Life Project. She and her team are in year 4 of a partnership with school personnel from six schools in Verde Valley, Arizona working to create healthy and active school cultures. Professor Kulinna is also a part of the Creating Future Faculty program at ASU. This program focuses on studying the transition from graduate student to assistant professor, and how we can best train future faculty for their roles as university teachers.
