Dave Keating is an associate professor of strategic communication in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Dr. Keating's primary research explores the design and effects of strategic messaging. Much of his current work focuses on how people process and are influenced by messaging given their existing systems of beliefs, the role and impact of message repetition, and how to optimize influence. Dr. Keating's research typically focuses on health messaging, with a secondary emphasis on science communication contexts and environmental topics.
