My path into instructional design began with teaching English as a Second Language, where I saw firsthand how much students depend on clear instructions, intentional scaffolding, and purposeful communication. Those early experiences showed me that strong design not only supports students, but also helps faculty clarify their teaching approaches. Today, as a Senior Instructional Designer with the College of Global Futures, I bring more than a decade of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and faculty training. I partner with faculty to design courses that align with program outcomes and ASU’s Gold Standards, while also applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) so that all students—no matter their background—can access, engage with, and demonstrate their learning.
I see my role as a collaborator who brings both creativity and structure to the design process. Faculty are experts in their fields, and I help them translate that expertise into clear, engaging, and student-centered courses. I do this by aligning assessments with outcomes, designing projects that scale with enrollment, and helping differentiate between what students need to know and what is nice to know. My background in curriculum design and my technical fluency in Canvas allow me to handle both the creative aspects of course building and the detail-oriented work of accessibility compliance, editing, and project management. I am also a Quality Matters–certified peer reviewer, enabling me to objectively evaluate courses for alignment and quality, and an ASU Spark Method Facilitator, skilled in guiding collaborative meetings that surface new ideas and solutions.
Ultimately, my goal is to make it easier for students to focus on learning—and easier for faculty to teach with confidence. Whether working with faculty to update an existing course, develop a master shell, or build a brand-new curriculum from the ground up, I bring a creative, focused, and thorough approach. I strive to ensure that courses are clear, relevant, and engaging so students can achieve their goals and faculty can share their passion with impact.
On a more personal note, I love animals and being in nature. I have visited over 20 zoos and aquariums all over the world. In my free time, I enjoy biking, cooking, birdwatching, and quilting. Stop by any time to chat about courses or quilts!
