Middel’s research interests lie in the interdisciplinary field of urban climate with focus on climate-sensitive urban form, design, landscapes, and infrastructure in the face of extreme heat and climatic uncertainty.

Sala is the Julie A. Wrigley, Regents, and Foundation Professor and the Founding Director of the Global Drylands Center at ASU.

Krijn Paaijmans combines ecology, engineering and climate science to translate biological insights into innovative technologies and strategies for infectious disease surveillance, prevention and control.

Vanos is an associate professor who studies heat, health, and adaptation in urban areas. She is Director of ASU's Human Biometeorology Lab and HeatReady Schools Program and PI of the NSF Global Center for Heat Adaptation.
