Jennifer Vanos is an associate professor in the School of Sustainability and the College of Global Futures at Arizona State University. Her research addresses adaptation to extreme heat in a changing climate and the impacts of extreme heat and air pollution on human health. Dr. Vanos is PI of the Human Biometeorology Lab at ASU, Chair of the American Meteorological Society’s Board on Environment & Health, and a co-author for new Heat & Health guidance for the World Health Organization.
Vanos is also an active member of the Urban Climate Research Center at ASU and a Scientific Advisor for the Korey Stringer Institute. She completed her PhD in 2012 at the University of Guelph in Canada and her Postdoctoral degree with Health Canada. She won the Climate and Health Champion award from Maricopa County in 2019.
