Ileana Orlich is President’s Professor of Romanian Studies and comparative literature in SILC, distinguished global futures scholar in Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, and affiliate in SCETL and Melikian Center.

Tompkins specializes in Latin American literature and cultural production, theory and film. She co-edits Imagofagia, is the editor-in-chief of Chasqui, and runs a summer abroad program in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Poudrier teaches Latin language courses as well as ancient Greek and Roman myth, history, religion, and culture. She is involved in many service and outreach activities like Fall Forum and the ACMRS Latin Research Group.

Sturges' teaching and research interests include medieval literature (especially Chaucer), the Bible as literature, critical theory, gender studies, lesbian/gay/queer studies, and opera.

Bjork specializes in Old English language and literature as well as Old Norse, modern Swedish, and modern medical writing. He was educated at Pomona College and UCLA.

Fox's current work focuses on the histories of positive emotions and well-being, as well as the role of fictional and cultural narratives in shaping emotion.

A Fulbright Scholar, Professor Ali is the founding chair of CAIS, coordinator of Arabic Studies and head of Classics and Middle East Studies at ASU.

Head of the Russian section, Hoogenboom teaches language, literature, and culture. An expert on Catherine the Great, she researches noble culture, civil society, corruption, sentimentalism, book history, and women writers.

Cho's research fields range from Pre-modern Korean and Chinese literature and culture; Sino-Korean exchange and East Asian comparative literature; performance literature; and oral storytelling and folk literature.

Mahgoub al-Tahawy is an award-winning Egyptian novelist and short story writer, and affiliated member of the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at ASU.
