Shiota's basic research addresses positive emotions, emotion in close relationships, and emotional mechanisms of behavior change. Her applied work develops interventions related to substance use and appetitive behavior.

Fabes' research interests include children's adjustment to school, school-based discipline, peer relationships, gender, positive development, and the translation of research for interventions and policy.

DePinto's primary professional experience has been in school social work and he has more than 30 years of experience working with chemically-dependent adolescents.

Mickelson received her PhD from Carnegie Mellon and did postdoctoral work at University of Michigan and Harvard. Her research focuses on social relationships and health; she is also an Assistant Dean in the Graduate College.

Jacobsen has extensive work experience in media, particularly newspaper editing and publishing, and in presenting public programs.

Ha studies the development of adolescent romantic relationships.

Started my teaching profession in 2001 as a special education teacher for self contained and inclusion high school students in San Diego California. I was a paraprofessional from 1980 - 2001 with special education field.
