His interests are in material behavior, fatigue and damage in engineering structures, infrastructural design and behavior under transportation, environmental, and other dynamic loads and additive manufacturing.

Li focuses on multi-scale nanocomposite printing with bioinspired design methodologies and programmable functional materials for potential applications in microfluidic devices, biomedical devices and flexible sensors.

Dr. Pathikonda studies turbulent fluid flows to understand natural and engineering phenomena using lab experiments. His expertise is in complex (reacting) mixing, high Re-flows, laser-based & spectroscopic techniques, etc.
