Professor Self is an assistant professor of Chemical Engineering in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport, and Energy. His research focuses on the development of sustainable polymer materials and processes.

Sipe's research focuses on the release and breakdown of emerging contaminants from materials (i.e. microplastics) to create a more sustainable future through lifecycle analysis focusing on environmental and public health.
