Long Bio
Dean Frias is the Curator of Culture and Community Relations at the Arizona State University Art Museum. With over a decade of experience in informal education and community development, Dean has played a pivotal role in enhancing museums and other informal learning spaces by growing communities of practice, developing STEM educational materials for NASA and NSF, as well as facilitating inclusivity assessments for museums and academic units.
Dean's professional journey includes roles at the Center for Innovation in STEM Learning, the National Informal STEM Educators Network, the School for the Future of Innovation in Society, SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium, the National Marine Educators Association, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
With over five years of experience in Inclusive Excellence, Dean has co-chaired several DEIA committees for various academic units within the College of Global Futures. Passionate about fostering community development and promoting all aspects of inclusivity within universities and museum settings, his work aims to create engaging, accessible experiences that enrich community development, are reflective of local communities, and advance cultural representation.
