Abby Zufelt is a professor, podcaster, and marketer. She leads the Cronkite School’s Digital Marketing capstone within the Cronkite Agency. In this immersive course, she teaches students to use digital marketing strategies as they execute campaigns for real clients.
Outside of her role in academia, Zufelt is the creator and host of the award-winning podcast Working Girl Talk — a show for marketers who love pop culture, TV and film. The podcast blends career and marketing insights with cultural commentary, aiming to empower and inform the next generation of marketers. In the top 2.5% of podcasts (ListenNotes), the show's goal is to deliver tangible advice, confidence-building conversations, and the latest brand and campaign news to help marketers stay sharp, relevant and inspired.
Prior to becoming full-time faculty at ASU, she served as the assistant director of marketing and digital strategy at Arizona PBS and the Cronkite School. She oversaw and managed all digital advertising, SEO and email marketing initiatives.
Prior to her time at the school, Zufelt was the social media director, and then general manager, of a digital marketing agency in Scottsdale, AZ. Throughout her career, she's worked with brands such as The Myers-Briggs Company, Eller Executive Education, Taste Nirvana Coconut Water and "The World Record Egg" (that egg that broke the record for most post likes on Instagram).
Zufelt obtained her master's degree in film and media studies at ASU. She also holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from the Cronkite School.
