Matthew Small is a faculty associate in the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Arizona State University. He received his doctorate in chemical physics while conducting research on catalytic nanoparticles at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC). He worked at Intel in Oregon before accepting a teaching position at ASU West and moving to Arizona in 2014.
