Jeff Kingsbury is an Associate Dean (Career Track) in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA). Dr. Kingsbury is a Teaching Professor in the (CISA) School of Applied Sciences and Arts, and holds an appointment in the School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering. He received his bachelor's degree in biology, and his medical degree from the State University of New York. He brings to the Associate Dean position many years of experience as a faculty member in addition to a broad range of experiences in teaching, educational research, shared governance, and service engagements related to advancing teaching and learning in higher education. As a member of the faculty of the School of Applied Sciences and Arts he teaches Anatomy and Physiology (BIO 160 & BIO 202) and Advanced Human Anatomy (BIO 475). Dr. Kingsbury has published and presented extensive research exploring science education and teaching effectiveness in his academic discipline. He has authored and co-authored several papers, text chapters and textbooks. He is an active member of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), past member of the American Physiological Society (APS), a past peer reviewer of physiology research funding for NASA, and a past consultant for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). He has held leadership roles in the teaching sections of APS and HAPS, as well as serving on several faculty advisory boards in professional organizations and in the higher education publishing industry. Additionally, he has served as a longtime member of the Arizona Articulation Task Force (ATF) in biological sciences, helping shape curriculum policy in higher education in Arizona. Dr. Kingsbury served multiple terms as a University Senator, is a past chair of the Senate Committee on Committees, a past member of the faculty senate Executive Committee, and a past-president of the CISA College Assembly.
