Rodney Lacey has broad experience in learning, teaching and research in the field of organization theory, management, and strategy. His main research areas are in set theoretic methods and qualitative comparate analysis (QCA), and institutional studies of industry-level organization and learning.
He has a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and sociology from Northwestern University, an MBA from the University of Texas in information systems management, and a BA from the University of Texas in Plan II. He has taught at a wide range of business schools, including business schools of Emory University, University of California Davis, University of California Irvine, and University of Florida. He has also has taught for a short while at London Business School and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He is a founding board member of the interdisciplinary Center for Organizations Research (COR) at the University of California Irvine, and has been the communications director for the Organization and Management Theory division of the Academy of Management.
