Long Bio
Tipsuda is a dedicated doctoral candidate at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, focusing her research on various facets of language dynamics including Language Choice, Language Ideologies, AsianCrit, Heritage Languages and Maintenance, and Language Policies. With a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, she is actively engaged in several projects:
- Investigating Team-Based Teaching as part of the Next Education Workforce Initiative.
- Exploring Hybrid Spaces and their implications on child development, language learning, and language socialization.
- Analyzing the experiences of female and queer gender rock climbers and their effects on health, work, and education.
- Studying Thai and Mexican immigrant families' language policies within the context of Arizona.
Her current dissertation examines the perspectives of pre-service teachers of color who are heritage language speakers, exploring their understanding of language policies in the English-only policy era, both as students and future educators. Through her rigorous academic pursuits, Tipsuda contributes valuable insights to the field of education and language studies.
