Behshad Mohajer is a doctoral researcher in Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering at the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment.
Behshad's research focuses on improving sustainable water management practices by unraveling complex relationships within hydrological systems at multiple scales, particularly emphasizing the interconnections between surface water and groundwater. His work is methodologically grounded at the intersection of hydrological science and modeling, water systems analysis and policy, remote sensing, geospatial data science and artificial intelligence. This interdisciplinary approach allows him to delve deeply into the scientific aspects of hydrological and water resources systems while also exploring the policy implications of his findings.
At Arizona State University, his projects aim to support informed water management and enhance resilience to water scarcity. By integrating scientific research with policy analysis, Behshad aims to make complex water issues understandable and contribute to empowering communities with reliable data and tools for bridging the water science and policy interface.
