Long Bio
Anahí (uh-n-aa-EE) Mendez is the assistant creative director for Learning Enterprise (LE) at Arizona State University. In her current role, Anahí oversees LE’s creative (design, photo and video) projects and provides direct marketing support to our Global Initiatives ventures in Latin America and worldwide. As a first-generation immigrant from Venezuela, she is deeply committed to harnessing education for social and economic opportunities while catering to learners across all life stages.
Anahí joined ASU in 2016, playing a pivotal role in scaling and managing communications and business operations for the ASU Center for Biodiversity Outcomes—a collaboration between the ASU Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation and the School of Life Sciences. For five years, she oversaw all media requests, ensured adherence to ASU Brand guidelines and AP writing style, and crafted and edited over 300 news blurbs, reports and feature stories. Anahí also managed the center's financial accounts and served as the HR liaison, successfully onboarding 24 team members, including student workers, graduate assistants, staff and Conservation International professors of practice.
Anahí is a dynamic problem-solver with over two decades of experience in higher education. In addition to her communication, visual design and business management experience, she enjoys facilitating multicultural communication as an interpreter (oral) and translator (written).
