Cheryl Wynn (Johnson) joined Arizona State University (ASU) in 2019 as an IT Project Manager in the University Technology Office. At ASU Enterprise Technology, she is a Product Owner on the Portfolio Management and Execution team. She is Product Owner of the Academic Personnel Actions Reporting System (APARS) and works closely with the APARS Team to understand stakeholder needs, build relationships, foster communication, and fully engage APARS’ service delivery model.
She is a certified Project Management Professional. She is also a contributor on ET's Culture Weavers and a Culture Collaborative workgroup.
She previously worked at Cuyahoga Health and Human Services (CHHS) in Information Services, in Ohio, for about 15 years. She began at CHHS as a Senior Training Officer, was promoted to Help Desk Supervisor and then to IT Project Manager. One of her major business process improvement projects at CHHS, at over $1 million, moved benefits eligibility from back-end scanning of eligibility documentation to front-end scanning. This project not only significantly reduced paper waste, but it also created major efficiencies for the agency through electronic content management and automated workflows. It also improved applicants’ user experience and reduced eligibility determination turnaround time.
She relocated to Arizona in 2016 and is passionate about family: family we choose and family who choose us.
