Todd Altomare is co-Director of the McKenna Life Sciences Business & Entrepreneurship Program and an Instructor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business.
Todd brings nearly three decades of corporate and executive experience into the classroom, primarily from the financial services industry. His professional background spans leadership, client relationship management, investment advisory, business development, and investor relations, including roles with Fidelity Investments and Vanguard.
At ASU, Todd teaches courses in Leadership & Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, and Negotiations. He is passionate about teaching and creating an engaging classroom experience that connects academic concepts with real business situations and decisions. His approach emphasizes experiential learning through cases, discussion, simulations, team activities, and practical exercises that encourage students to apply what they are learning, challenge assumptions, make decisions, and develop skills they can carry into their careers.
As co-Director of the McKenna Life Sciences Business & Entrepreneurship Program, Todd has played an active role in building and developing the program from its early stages. His work has included helping build the program team and hire staff, contributing to the development and delivery of the summer program, and designing the student success course for the program’s inaugural undergraduate cohort. He continues to work alongside the McKenna team to develop new curriculum, student experiences, and opportunities that bring together business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the life sciences. Central to this work is creating an undergraduate experience that helps students build meaningful relationships, develop their professional identity, discover new opportunities, and gain the confidence and skills to make an impact throughout college and beyond.
Todd is also actively involved with students outside the classroom and has served as a faculty advisor for Collegiate DECA, New Venture Group, Student Entrepreneurship Organization and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). His commitment to undergraduate students has been recognized through several teaching, service, and advising honors. In 2025, Todd received the Huizingh Outstanding Service to Undergraduate Students Award. He also received the 2023–2024 Faculty Advisor of the Year Award for NSCS and was nominated for the Huizingh Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award in both 2023 and 2024, as well as the Huizingh Outstanding Service to Undergraduate Students Award in 2024.
Prior to joining academia, Todd spent 26 years in the financial services industry, including experience with two of the world’s largest investment management organizations, Fidelity Investments and Vanguard. He also spent four years pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, including a software startup and multifamily real estate investment, where he served as President of the General Partnership. These experiences provided Todd with perspectives from both large established organizations and entrepreneurial ventures that he brings into his teaching and work with students.
Todd is also the founder of High Seas Consulting, where his work includes active equity trading, with a focus on swing trading strategies informed by technical analysis, price action, and market trends. Through High Seas Consulting, Todd also provides leadership development and training for small and mid sized organizations.
Todd earned a Bachelor of Science from the Boston College Carroll School of Management, with majors in Finance and Marketing, and a Master of Business Administration from the Suffolk University Sawyer Business School in Boston. He has held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification since 2013.
Outside of his professional and academic work, Todd has volunteered his time with schools, community food banks, and nonprofit organizations working to combat human trafficking.
