Kelly Hondula

Kelly Hondula is an Associate Research Scientist in the Asner Lab at ASU's Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science, where she leads field and data science activity focused on reef water quality for the ʻĀkoʻaʻkoʻa Reef Restoration Program. She specializes in aquatic biogeochemistry and watershed science, and has worked on environmental topics ranging from the biodiversity footprint of food waste, models of flood risk behavior, and the policy and ethics of ecosystem restoration. Before coming to ASU, Kelly was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Ecological Observatory Network, and worked on the research staff of the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center, helping to accelerate interdisciplinary research at the intersection of natural and social sciences.
