Dr. Hyewon Youn received her Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She received her M.S. in Hotel Administration also from UNLV and a B.S. in International Hospitality Management from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (Lausanne Hotel School) in Switzerland. Prior to joining HAITC, She served on the faculty of School of Tourism Management at Sun Yat-sen University in China teaching hospitality accounting, hospitality finance and business strategy courses.
In terms of scholarly activities, Dr. Youn has been conducting research in the areas of hospitality finance, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and consumer behaviors, working on the development of theoretical models to better understand the link between them. More recently, Dr. Youn has conducted research examining the role of culture and how it affects consumer behavior and their perceptions of CSR activities. As of 2022, Dr. Youn has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in academic journals. Her areas of research interest include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Hospitality Industry, Consumer Behavior in the Hospitality Industry, and Financial Performance of Hospitality Firms
