Dr. Jason Covert is an educator and researcher dedicated to advancing adult learning through innovative learning design, educational technology, and evidence-based teaching strategies. With a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, along with advanced degrees in Educational Technology and Adult Education and Training, Dr. Covert specializes in creating engaging, learner-centered experiences for both students and educators.
Currently, Dr. Covert serves in multiple roles at Arizona State University and the University of Phoenix. As a Senior Learning Experience Designer at UOPX, he leads strategic initiatives to enhance digital learning environments, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to implement effective educational technologies. Additionally, as an Instructional Designer at ASU, he works closely with faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop instructional content that optimizes student engagement and learning outcomes.
Beyond his design work, Dr. Covert is an Associate Faculty member in the College of Doctoral Studies at the University of Phoenix and an Academic Associate in the Masters of Learning Design and Technologies program at Arizona State University. His teaching portfolio includes courses in leadership theory, research methodologies, statistical research methods, and instructional evaluation. Through his mentorship and instruction, he equips students with the skills needed to navigate the evolving educational landscape.
Dr. Covert's scholarship focuses on the utility and impact of career-focused instructional videos for online adult learners. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, contributing to ongoing discussions on digital learning and instructional media effectiveness. His service to the academic community includes manuscript reviews for TechTrends and proposal reviews for the Online Learning Consortium.
Committed to fostering inclusive, critical, and experiential learning environments, Dr. Covert continues to bridge the gap between educational theory and practice, ensuring that technology and pedagogy work in harmony to support lifelong learning.
