Bri Hollowell is a Goldwater Institutional Nominee and a Barrett Honors student at Arizona State University, where she is pursuing dual degrees in Astronomical and Planetary Sciences and Earth and Environmental Sciences. As a research aide for the School of Earth and Space Exploration, her research focuses on Earth's upper atmospheric dynamics and space weather, specifically examining the drivers of carbon dioxide emissions during nighttime NLTE (Non-Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium) events.
In addition to her work in the physical sciences, Bri serves as a Qualitative Research Assistant for the Action Lab at EdPlus, where she investigates the pedagogical efficacy of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, and their impact on learning outcomes. A recipient of the Barrett Gold Standard Research & Thesis Award, Bri is also a former NASA Space Grant intern, a NASA L’SPACE alumna, and served as a NASA Lucy Mission Ambassador.
Following her graduation, she intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences, focusing on science education and planetary aeronomy.
