Honors / Awards
AwardU RockIT Award winner for Innovation,West Virginia University – 2017. Awarded the AwardU RockIT Award for Innovation, recognized for transforming how WVU manages and safeguards critical documents. When the University’s Banner Document Management (BDM) system faced a costly and time-consuming flaw – where thousands of scanned documents risked deletion before secure import – I engineered a creative, automated solution that not only fixed the problem but elevated the entire system’s efficiency. By reducing document processing from 10 seconds to just 2, the solution delivered exponential time savings across hundreds to thousands of jobs. The designed custom processes that enabled concurrent imports, proactive validation of scans, and automatic alerts for any issue – turning a vulnerable process into a streamlined, reliable engine. The improvements also eliminated the need for costly software licenses, simplified system setup and maintenance, and empowered ITS to detect and resolve issues before they affect end users.
West Virginia University 150 Year Celebration Coin Recipient – 2018. The 150 Year Celebration Coin is a rare and prestigious recognition created for the 150th anniversary of WVU’s founding. While the University employs more than 6,000 faculty and staff members, only 150 coins were presented, making this honor especially meaningful. The coin serves as an official token of appreciation for those hardworking employees at every level who go above and beyond to make the West Virginia University community stronger each day. Recipients exemplify WVU’s core values of service, professionalism, aptitude, accountability, and appreciation. They are chosen because they set a high standard of excellence and serve as outstanding role models for others to follow.
