Shane Johnson has over 30 years of experience in the area of compound semiconductor materials and device growth, fabrication, and design. He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of British Columbia and is currently a tenured Research Scientist at Arizona State University. His research and expertise includes device physics and optical engineering and the epitaxial growth and development of novel semiconductor materials and devices. Dr. Johnson has published over 120 refereed journal articles, has contributed to over 300 conference papers, abstracts, and invited presentations, and has 4 issued US patents. He was awarded the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada Postdoctoral Fellowship (1996-1998) and is a member of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and serves as the Photonics Society representative on the IEEE Wave and Devices Phoenix Chapter.
