Gillian Osborne is the Director of Curriculum at ASU's Center for Public Humanities. She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Columbia University, and holds regular teaching appointments for ASU, Bard College, and the Harvard Extension School, where she is Co-Instructor with Elisa New for courses covering 400 years of American poetry. As an educator, she specializes in supporting non-traditional students, from high school students earning college credit, to adult learners, and K-12 teachers pursuing professional development.
Her publications include a collection of essays, Green Green Green (Nightboat, 2021), poetry and reviews, and scholarship on 19th-century American authors and modern and contemporary ecopoetics.
